Looking for a piano teacher in Newcastle? If you have the desire for piano lessons, whether you are a child, teenager, or an adult, it is with-in your abilities so long as you have the appreciation for music and the will for guidance. Here at Lillian's Piano Studio we have two very skilled, talented and experienced music teachers which are qualified and skilled at general music teaching, piano teaching, singing lessons, keyboard lessons, theory lessons, audio recording, DJ'ing and much more. My studio which is situated in Adamstown Heights Newcastle , consists of a Toyo Apollo Baby Grand Piano, a second electric piano, 5 keyboards for group lessons, sound recording equipment to aid in assisting students with improving their playing, DJ turntables and other various instruments all in a room separated from distractions.

In order to learn to play the piano there must be a piano to learn on and what better piano to learn on than a Toyo Apollo Baby Grand Piano which is a Japanese brand of piano which is now manufactured in China and built to Japanese Standards.

In a typical piano lesson the student uses the Baby Grand piano to practice on whilst the piano teacher will sit aside or behind, or on occasion during duet practice will assist on a second piano. A picture of the Baby Grand piano I have is featured below.

As every musician is at different levels they require different lessons structures and attention to different areas. Beginners require the most attention as all basics need to be covered from the musical notes, to the staves, to positioning of the hands etc; therefore a completely different structure is set out for beginners in comparison to intermediate and advanced players. For beginners in comparison to intermediate and advanced players. For beginners a lot of work consists of theory as it is imperative to understand the functions of the notes and staves in order to simply know where to put your hands on the keyboard.
Click the link below to view a few main points on beginners lesson structures.

As we believe that theory is an extremely important aspect of music, we encourage our students to participate in extra theory lessons. As we are well aware of the fact that theory can often be boring and tedious we have devised methods to make learning theory far more interesting by using a digital projector with material prepared to assist in teaching the students for better understanding which has proven to be very effective and successful.
With computer assisted music programms we make learning theory even more fun with all students able to participate in musical games. And there's no better way to learn music than learning whilst having fun.
